A simple cargo bike with the aim of serving fresh food or drinks to people in public spaces.

Dining out with other people, going for a drink at night or simply enjoying a snack after work to relax and unwind. All those things seem so distant to us after the past year of the Coronavirus pandemic. Social distancing measures and the closing of all gastronomy has fundamentally changed much of our social behavior.

Especially in the warmer months a new trend of people meeting in public places has emerged, in order to keep in touch with friends, have a drink or share a meal together.

This trend shows how food brings people together, even in times of social distancing. Therefore our idea was to design a social intervention to use the public space as an open restaurant or bar, while providing the option to keep distance.

This allows a dining experience in public places and solves the issue of having to take your meals with you. At the same time it also opens up new possibilities for restaurant owners.

The suggested cargo bike is a response to the economic and social consequences of the closed gastronomy and should present a way of delivering fresh food and drinks in parks or at public spaces.
