Using temporary structures of scaffolding as an extension of the public in the vertical dimension.
In the time of the pandemic, it is necessary to enter the rooms through separate entrances. A temporary staircase, placed outside the building, serves as an access zone as well as a communication zone between the open space and the required functional space. The staircase leads outside into one of the original zones of the staircase and enables a diverse perception of the street space. This relieves the program of the frequency of use and makes the spatial program more flexible. In the future, this first prototype could connect more than one building. This solution breaks with the traditional structure and hierarchy of buildings and offers the possibility of a different perception of the building and at the same time flexible and independent access and mobility to the building. The project offers an unusual connection directly from the first floor to the desired floor. This Prototype also offers the possibility of elevated public spaces in conjunction with the staircase. The modularity and the flexibility of the scaffolding, allow the integration of this prototype in the existing urban environment. Therefore by combining our prototypes, a lifted network system can be developed in the Viennese urban context.
